Cabin Air Filter Replacement
Care for the air entering your cabin.
The cabin air filter traps contaminants in air entering the passenger compartment. It serves your ventilation system and is separate from the engine air filter.
What the filter does
Pennzoil’s cabin-filter guidance describes filtering pollen, dust, dirt, and other impurities from air entering through the heater, air conditioning, and vents. Keeping the filter maintained supports its intended filtration function for the passenger compartment.
Selecting a replacement
A replacement must fit the vehicle’s cabin-filter housing. Access and filter design vary, so ask your chosen shop to confirm the correct part and service for your vehicle. If you are unsure which filter was last replaced, bring any available service records.
When to have it checked
We recommend cabin air filter replacement every 12,000–20,000 miles. Filter condition and your maintenance history also help guide the decision. Mention concerns about the ventilation system during your visit; an odor or other symptom may need assessment beyond a filter replacement.
Consider both air filters
The engine air filter protects the intake air used by the engine. The cabin air filter handles passenger ventilation. Our service menu includes both replacements, and the team can help you identify which item is due for your vehicle.
